Brief Answer:
Diagnosis is falciparum malaria

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted the blood reports and treatment plan of the 72 year old patient.

The diagnosis in this case is malaria caused by the parasite Plasmodium falciparum. The treatment planned is along the correct lines.

In addition, there is high blood pressure, for which medicines have been added.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,

Thanks for replying Dr.

Is this a risky process or treatment is pretty sure. As per one Dr we visited the injection prescribed is bit risky. We reside in XXXXXXX and for better treatment can move to any other place by flight.

Brief Answer:
Treatment would be same elsewhere too.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

The treatment is standard and would be similar elsewhere too. So, in my opinion, there is no need to move to another place.

The risk is associated with the disease, and not the injection; as falciparum causes the most severe form of malaria.

The patient needs to be closely monitored regarding the kidney functions, blood parameters, etc, which can get affected by this malaria parasite.

Best wishes,

OK. So my final query is - Does the treatment have chances to totally eradicate the disease in case kidney & other parts working fine OR will it just control or minimise the effect of malaria parasite.

Brief Answer:
Most people completely recover.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

If major organ (kidney, blood, brain) damage can be prevented/promptly treated, then, most people recover completely.

So, we can expect a completely healthy person after the successful completion of the treatment.

Best wishes,
