Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist). I have gone through your query and i have noted your concern.

Henoch Schonlein purpura can have crops of recurrences which are usually treated in the same way as earlier episodes i.e usually with oral corticosteroids and NSAIDs in adult patients. Besides skin other organ systems like kidney, joints and gastrointestinal tract may also be involved with vasculitis in HSP and may manifest as hematuria, abdominal pain and GI bleeding and arthralgias. Rather thsn stopping treatment altigether it is advisable to continue on maintenance treatment well after the rash resolves.
He should take bed rest and avoid prolonged walking during episodes/ flares and monitor with urinalysis at regular intervals even after the skin rash resolves to evaluate for any renal complications.

Regards
