Suggest Treatment For Fatigue And Purple Discoloration On Fingers And Hand Of A Teenager
Question: Hi. My daughter (16) has been experiencing fatigue and now blotchy blue/purple fingers and hand. She says they are somewhat numb. It is about 70 degrees in the house, so I don't think it is cold that is causing it. They are no longer blue/purple right now. She has also been dealing with severe cramps (menstrual) with heavy, heavy blood flow. I am trying to decide if I should take her to an emergency room. She is not having her cycle at this time.

I am currently trying to send the pictures from phone from the palm side of her hand and her face now-transmission is slow due to poor cell service.
I believe I have uploaded them correctly-I used the add reports feature on the left side of page.
Did you receive the images?

Brief Answer:
Could be hand, foot and mouth disease
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Yes, I can see the images and have checked them. Please clarify if the temperature is low. Cold could lead to such a presentation. If that is the case she needs to be kept warm. Furthermore there is a viral infection called hand, foot and mouth disease that could have occurred. If that is the case, management is supportive. No active intervention needed. Irrespective of treatment it should resolve in a week or so.
