Suggest Treatment For Fatigue, Atrial Fibrillation And Low BP

I am 58. Is blood pressure that ranges between 130/71 and 107/62 normal. Since stenting diastolic has often been in the 60s.
Also I get terrible fatigue, most of the times I just push through it. I have occasional atrial fibrillation which my cardiologist is monitoring with a view to placing me on medication to lower blood pressure. It was 150/80 at his surgery but I think it was because I was anxious. I am on clopidogrel 75 mg and crestor 20 mg.
I have not had symptoms of angina since the stenting. The fatigue is my worst problem now.
It may side effect of clopidogrel use...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.
You are reporting to feel fatigue two years after stenting.
If I was your doctor would advise to run further diagnostic tests to rule out:
- heart failure/pulmonary embolism (echocardiogram)
- complete blood work to rule out anemia
- holter monitoring to evaluate the need of betablockers to control atrial fibrillation and heart rate.
If everything is good, then crestor large dose and clopidogrel long use should be blamed for your symptoms. Fatigie is one of the side effects of prolonged use of clopidogrel.
If you were my patient would advise to start warfarin because it's the drug of choice in patients with atrial fibrillation and if another antiagregant was needed I would add baby aspirin instead of clopidogrel.
Hope it was of help!
