Suggest Treatment For Fatty Liver
Please get tested for your liver function and cholesterol level
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.
1. Having a mildly fatty liver on ultrasound scan is not a serious concern and can be due to many causes including the following.
(i) Increased intake of fatty foods and alcohol
(ii) Over weight and obese patients.
(iii) Those who have fatty liver running in family members.
(iv) Any liver condition that is changing appearance of liver.
(v) Mild fatty liver can also be there in many normal people
2. You might like to get complete liver function test done including SGOP, SGPT, Alkaline phosphatase, GGT, bilirubin (direct, total and indirect) done to make sure your liver functions are normal.
3. Doing lipid profile test to know if you have raised cholesterol level and any associated risk of heart problem.
4. Discuss your reports with your doctor. Please make changes to your diet as per your liver and cholesterol reports and take medications if given.
Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
Regards,
Dr.Vivek

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.
1. If cholesterol is normal then there is no risk of heart problem.
2. Liver is a large organ and usually any abnormal liver test is repeated after 2 to 3 months to know if the liver enzymes return back to normal.
3. In some people there might be fatty liver and slightly elevated liver enzymes in the absence of any disease and this is no a concern. It is important to know if you recently had jaundice or any liver problems. If you never had liver problems in the past then there is no need to worry.
4. As a routine followup you can get the abnormal liver tests repeated after 2 to 3 months. Please continue taking a healthy diet.
5. The mild cream or yellow appearance of the inside of eyelid when pulled down is not significant.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Dr.Vivek
The cream color is like around eyeball
Please find details given below
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXX,
Thanks for writing in with an update.
1. There is a condition named xanthelasma in which there is orange or yellow deposition of pigment on the outer part of the eyelid and this can predict a heart problem in the future. I dont think you have this condition as your doctor would have told you about it.
If you are finding a cream or yellow coloration in eyeball then serum bilirubin tests are to be done and I guess your test level is in normal limits and therefore not a concern. There can also be yellowish discoloration of eyeballs due to certain infections and break or small vessels in the sclera and these if present would have been obvious to your doctor.
2. In the absence of a picture I am unable to clarify the exact nature of your problem and am sorry about it.
3. Should it have been a significant condition, your doctor would certainly have made an observation and discussed it with you. Please request your doctor to provide a clinical opinion after examining your eyelid and eyeball.
4. Fatty liver can be due to non alcoholic fatty liver disease. Under normal circumstances, if liver function tests are normal then nothing needs to be done. However it is suggested that you get an ultrasound scan of your liver every year or at least once in two year with the liver function tests to know if there is a concern and start taking measures to protect your liver function.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.
1. I understand your concern and the new pictures are very clear.
2. The cream color in the eyeball can sometimes be present due to changes in the atmosphere and exposure to sunlight. It is not always a sign of any harmful condition or disease. As it improves with the day, it is not a concern. However, I suggest that you consult an ophthalmologist for a proper clinical evaluation and double confirmation.
Hope your query is answered.

Unlikely to be jaundice from the pictures
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.
1. At present it does not look like jaundice.
2. In jaundice there is high level of bilirubin circulating in blood and this gets deposited on the white of eyeball.
3. I hope you have got serum bilirubin test done recently with liver enzymes and it does not show abnormal level of bilirubin
4. During your trip please consume clean and fresh food and drinking water.
Hope your query is answered.

Non fasting state might affect results of those with abnormal level
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.
1. Till recently it was believed that taking meals just before renal function tests did not cause any differences, however latest research has shown that taking meals can show inaccurate results in some people, especially those having abnormal test results.
2. The research article says and I quote "Cooking converts a substance in meat called creatine to creatinine and, when consumed, temporarily increases the level of creatinine in the blood, possibly causing artificially high test results."
3. However since your GFR and BUN are normal therefore taking meals before renal tests did not matter in your case.
Hope your query is answered.
