Question: Hi,
I am a 28 years old man, I think I have a different problem when I talk to a girl or women I always try to look at her eyes but automatically I look down to her chest or waist, I don't know how to stop it. if I try to concentrate on looking at their eyes, it just makes it worse because I end up getting really nervous and usually end up looking down. I know some people have noticed this problem of mine because they will cover there breast or waist by XXXXXXX when I am talking to them or give me a funny look. Its a real big problem that is starting to effect my job. Its like i can't control where my eyes look.
Please give me some advise to treat it.
Thanks
doctor

Brief Answer:
You appear to have OCD problem.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.

I appreciate your efforts for medical consultation in so much distress.

From your description it appear that you are suffering from OBSESSIVE-COMPULSIVE DISORDER (OCD) disorder. In this disorder people used to do some compulsive act (like seeing: Private Parts in your case) which is followed by anxiety and guilt.

OCD occurs due to neurotransmitters imbalance in brain most commonly involving serotonin neurotransmitter. You need regular supervisied treatment with psychiatrist to treat your OCD problem. Treatment involves Medicine and Counseling (Like cognitive behavior therapy). Choice of treatment depends on severity of symptoms, personal preference and availability of treatment.

In drug treatment most commonly SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors like Fluvoxamine or Fluoxetine) are used. SSRI takes around 3-4 weeks to show its effect.

All these process is complex. I have just simplified it to make you understand it. To follow treatment you need to meet some nearby psychiatrist personally. Medicines are also prescription medicines. It is not advisable to take them without doctor prescription and evaluation.

Apart from above advice following simple measures will help you:
-Decrease worrying by keeping yourself busy and distracted from worrisome thoughts by talking to family members or watching T.V. or counting back (100 to 0).
-Do not any guilt as your symptoms (or behavior) due to OCD problem.
-Healthy diet: Milk and fruits in diet.
-Daily morning walk, Breathing exercise and yoga (which you can learn from some expert in person)
-Avoid any addiction (if present).

I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
Wish you good health.
