Suggest Treatment For Fever After Getting An MMR Vaccination

Question: Hi,
My 9 months daughter was given MMR vaccine on Saturday evening (10 Dec). From today morning she developed fever and vomited few times. we have already consulted a doctor who told us that these conditions are normal after MMR vaccine. The doctor has given crocin, a medicine for vomiting and said she will be fine.
I am looking for a second opinion, Please provide us additional inputs for proper care.
thanks, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Not a cause for concern.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic. Sorry for not being able to respond faster.
Let me assure you that your doctor is indeed right that such fevers are not usually a cause for concern. They are either reactionary due to the vaccine, or due to some simple viral infection. Continue to give crocin if the child has fever (crocin is for fever and not for vomiting). Also give tepid sponging. If the child has vomiting, you can give some antiemetic like ondansetron. If the child is otherwise active and playful, you need not worry.
Feel free to write back.
