Advised antipyretics
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome.
Thanks for sharing your concern.
For now you can take antipyretics like acetaminophen and please consult your dentist if there is again rise in temperature. It could be sign of infection.
Also please remove the dentures and store them in water.Take them along when you visit dentist,it might require better finish on pressure areas.
Please let me know for further doubts.
Thanks.
Take care.

well the teeth were in front on the bottom and my chin is swollen and sore to the touch...I assume this is all part of having the teeth removed is that true
Brief Answer:
Normal tissue response.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for reply.
Yes you are absolutely right, mild to moderate pain, swelling and redness post extraction is a part of normal tissue response. But since there is sudden rise in temperature that shows there could be infection developed.
That is the reason, I suggested you to take acetaminophen single dose and wait for the response. If you find comfortable with it and no further rise in temperature then its fine.
In any case if again after 4 to 6 hours you measure and see for any rise in temperature.Only then, you must see your dentist for a single three day course for antibiotics else need not worry.
Follow post extraction instructions religiously and the healing will be much faster.
Please do take care that you take plenty of juices and fluids and keep yourself hydrated too.
Let me know for further doubts.
Thanks.
