Suggest Treatment For Fever And Chills In Child

Question: My child has 103 degree F armpit temperature when measured with digital thermometer from past one day with chills. Suspecting dengue. Gave the blood and urine for tests. Doctor told about blood CBC is ok except lympocytes to 74%. Yet to get other reports. Now he is having 103 fever along with chills. Not sure what kind of care to take at home. we gave meftal-p but the chills appear every after 3 hours. Child is 4 years old and 15kgs weight. What do you suggest us to do at home . His hands and feet are very cold.

Thanks for asking query in HCM.
I can understand your situation. Your 4 years old child is having high fever with chills. Do following things at home
1. try to reduce body temperature first, by cold water sponging on head.
2. give meftal suspension whenever temperature rises.
3. Go for malaria and dengue antigen blood test they are quick and easy to diagnose illness.
4. Drink plenty of water to maintain proper hydration.
5. Keep close watch to rule out any difficulty in breathing and chest ingrowing or any added sound.
As lymphocyte count is 74% probability of viral infection is more. But better to rule out dengue and malaria by antigen test.
Do not worry he will be fine. Just go for these tests and do above measures.
