Question: How long does a stomach virus take to run its corse with out taking meds?
I am 45 year old male with type2 diabetes . Ive been running a temp of 101 the past 4 days with heavy diarrhea

Hi there,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Fever with diarrhea could be due to either viral or bacterial infection.
If it viral it may subside within 5-7 days on its own without taking any medications.

If it is bacterial, you may have to take a course of antibiotics for cure.

I would advise you to get a complete blood count and a stool test done to know whether it is viral or bacterial.
