Suggest Treatment For Fever And Mild Stomach Pain In Child
Question: Doctor, I've a 7 year old son having 32 kg of body weight with well built & tall stature. Since evening, after coming back from playgrounds he appears to be less active & sleepy. I found he is having fever of 103f. with no signs of cold, cough except mild stomachache. I gave him 15 ml of metal P as doctor prescribed him in previous visit with similar condition. The child is having no unpleasant medical history. Here I would like to request you to please suggest the dosage of metal P for 32 kg, kid. This is first time we are administering meftal P to our son. Should be there any need to switch over to some other medicine after one dose of meftal P. Please advice .
Brief Answer:
Stop Meftal. Viral lymphadenitis possible.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query at HCM.
I understand your concern and situation.
You must not worry as it is viral infection possible in intestines. It is enlarged lymph nodes probably which is causing pain. Meftal spas will be of no use. You must stop it. You can get ultrasound abdomen done. I would suggest you to start him on antibiotics like cefixime after tests and prescription from pediatrician. Give him pre and probiotics it will be beneficial. Do not worry it will subside soon. Give him what he wants to eat. Maintain hydration. Monitor temperature for a week. Stay in follow up.
Take care
