Suggest Treatment For Fever Despite Having Tylenol

Question: my 17 month old daughter has had a fever of 103 since last night. we gave her Tylenol but hasn't gone down. she has no other symptoms. should we go to doctor or let fever break?

Thanks for posting in health care magic.

As the fever is only for 1 day, you may wait and look out for other symptoms like cough, cold, loose stool, vomiting etc. If the child is playful in between the fever episodes and there is associated cough and cold, the chances of viral infection is high. It requires nothing except proper diet rest and syp paracetamol in correct dose (15 mg /kg body weight). If given in correct dose the fever will go down.

In any point of time, if the child feels excessively drowsy or is not at all playful you should visit a doctor personally.
