Dengue fever
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Many febrile illnesses have similar presentation at the beginning. Apart from fever, there may be constitutional symptoms like headache, body-ache ,weakness in typhoid as well as dengue fever. However characteristic of dengue fever is retroorbital pain, and back pain along with the severe myalgia that gave rise to the colloquial designation "break-bone fever." Severe dengue may have thrombocytopenia (Platelet count<1,00,000/c. mm).
You don't have classic symptoms of dengue and your Platelet count is well above 1,00,000/c. mm.
However,if there is strong suspicion of dengue one can go for blood tests viz. Dengue NS1 antigen and Dengue IgM & IgG. One also should avoid Inj diclofenac if there is suspicion of dengue. Instead paracetamol oral or IV infusion should be taken to reduce fever/myalgia.
Widal test has high rate of false positivity but rising titre would be suggestive of typhoid fever.
