Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for writing in.

I have seen many patients with diagnosis as that of your wife. After going through the reports, a fbroadenoma is suspected on ultrasound scan breasts which has been further confirmed by FNAC which is a very important investigation. The condition is not worrisome and completely benign (not cancerous). Please keep the FNAC slides for future reference.

The exact cause of fibroadenomas is not known. Hormones such as estrogen may play a part in the growth and development of the tumors. Fibroadenomas generally don’t need removal, as they become smaller over the years or disappear altogether, especially after menopause. Fibroadenomas can be surgically removed under local anesthesia, but frequently recur.

Evion is vitamin E preparation and cobadex is vitamin B complex. Vitamin deficiency is not exactly related to breast fibroadenomas but having a diet including adequate amount of vitamins protects from other disorders.

Hope your query is answered.

Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for writing in.

The medications may continue as these are vitamins only and not harmful in anyway. She can continue taking normal healthy diet.

No further examination is to be done at the moment. However, she may be suggested to do self breast examination every 15 days and if she feels any hard immobile lump in breast then she must report to doctor immediately. This suggestion is given to every woman irrespective of whether she has a fibroadenoma. Also please keep the ultrasound and FNAC reports safely for future reference.

Hope your query is answered.
