Brief Answer:
Fibroid causing leg pain

Detailed Answer:
Hi, Thanks for writing..
I understand your concern..

May I know the size of the fibroid? A large fibroid pressing on the spine can cause pressure on the nerves supplying the gluteus and hamstrings.. That is the cause of your back pain and leg pain. On lying down, the pressure on the spine increases even more which is the cause of severe pain in the morning when you get up.

Only treatment is hysterectomy or myomectomy if you want to conserve the uterus. For temporary relief, you can lie in prone position.

Hope I have answered your question.. Feel free to ask any queries.. Good day.

I don't know the size of the fibroid. I should have asked my Dr. I think I hysterectomy has a pretty long recovery time. I will ask my Gyn about options and in the meantime I will lie prone. Thank you for your help.

Hi,
Thanks for writing..

Depending on the size of the fibroid, the mode of surgery can be determined. Laproscopic hystrectomy has a faster recovery and less pain. Rest is advised for 2 months.
