Suggest Treatment For Fibromyalgia While On Methadone
Question: I recently stopped taking Methadone (Aug 19) as per my Dr. He helped me slowly get off and I appreciate it so much. I have fibromyalgia and have been on Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 10/325 for over 15 yrs. My problem is that this dosage is no longer working for me. I spoke with my Dr. on Monday and he is referring me to a pain clinic. I know nothing about them or how they work, I just know I can no longer do some of my daily activities, wash dishes (standing in pain) cleaning my home. Sleep, I toss and turn from the pain in my hips. I'm a mess. I have an appointment on 10/9/17 with the pain management, will the methadone show up in the blood work. I was told they will turn people away if anything other than your prescribed medication shows up on tests. My last methadone was in August, will this show on a test? How long does medication stay in our bodies?
Brief Answer:
Will not be detected.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Since your last dose of methadone was in August it will not show in any of the blood work. This is not detectable in blood after 8 weeks. If they do a hair follicle sample - not likely as a routine testing- then only methadone can be detected.
You need stronger pain killers for relief after proper evaluation of the severity of symptoms.
I hope this answers your query.
