of fluid filled blisters that are painful. What is it?
irritant contact dermatitis is most likely possibility
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.
I have read your query.
I have seen the attached photograph also.
I understand your concern.
I can appreciate the grouped vesicles on erythematous background over the area I suppose you put bandage.
I would like to know whether you got blisters prior to bandage or you noticed them after you removed the bandage?
If post bandage , then it is most likely Irritant contact dermatitis.
It is characterised by instant reaction to some chemical or other substance in contact with the skin.
In such cases, I prefer to advise topical antibiotic cream like mupirocin 2 percent over the affected area followed by a combination of antibiotic and steroid like hydrocortisone.
Alongwith oral antihistaminics like levocetrizine is advised for symptomatic relief.
If pain is severe, pain killers like ibuprofen can be taken.
Kindly reply to my question so that I can help you to my best.
Take care.
no its neither HSv / shingles
Detailed Answer:
No its neither shingles nor herpes.
Herpes is characterised by vesicles with erythematous base. It is associated with itch or pain or burning sensation.
It is usually found on or around lips and genitalia.
Zoster also has grouped vesicles on erythematous base in a dermatome.
You have blisters on clear base with erythematous plaque on background.
So Zoster/Shingles and Herpes are ruled out.
I hope I am able to solve your query.
Thanks.
as per your symptoms zoster is a strong possibility
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome back.
Sorry for the delayed reply. There was some technical error so couldn't reply.
I have seen the uploaded images.
Now the rash is more prominent and erythematous, it may be zoster also.
I would like to give you two differentials-
1) Irritant contact dermatitis
2) Herpes zoster
In case it is zoster, you may need antivirals like Acyclovir / Valacyclovir.
Visit your doctor so that he can examine you and give you prescription.
Keep the area open and apply antibiotic cream like mupirocin 2 percent.
For pain and swelling, you may take pain killers like ibuprofen.
Keep the area clean and dry.
You can share my opinion with your doctor.
I hope it helps.
Take care.
