Suggest Treatment For Food Allergy
thank you.
Change the levosiz. Get food allergy tests done.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. The drowsiness (sleepiness) and dry mouth (xerostomia) are side effects of the levocetirizine that you are taking.
2. Request your doctor to change to a non sedating medication such as fexofenadine or loratidine.
3. A mucolytic such as ambroxol may help reduce the dryness in the mouth.
4. Food allergy and intolerance can be tested. Get a Food print test (SRL Labs) and an allergy test done. Skin prick tests are also possible to check for other allergies.
5. There is no cure for allergy. avoiding the trigger foodstuff is important. You may also be sensitive to the alcohol. Upload the test results here or directly at bit.ly/Dr-Sumit-Bhatti
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Hi,
Thank you for writing back.
1. You need to stop the levocetirizine (Levosiz) for only 3-4 days before the tests.
2. Doubling the dose will worsen the side effects such as sleepiness and dry mouth. 5 mg per day is the recommended dose.
3. These are common side effects of Levosiz. Stop alcohol, if possible.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
