Question: I am having foot pain around hallucis on right foot for the last couple of months, i had visited orthopedic specialist and did X-ray for the right foot but no issue found, then i applied neem oil as well as Fast Relief ointments to get temporary relief but pain is still exist while pressing that area[HALLUCIS], could you help with the following:

1)Reason for having pain on HALLUCIS area of right foot only as there is no injury
2)Is it due to blood circulation issue around that area
3)There is no problem while walking, sitting but only when pressing/touching on it so why is it so?
4)What is the correct line of treatment with steps as i am not taking any medicine
5)I am using flat heel shoes and changing socks every 2 days. Can it due to long working hours and sitting for 12hours daily.

Regards

Brief Answer:
It can be due to high uric acid

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think that there can be two possible causes of such pain.
1.Stress fracture due to long standing
2.High uric acid
I would suggest you to get MRI of the feet to find out if you are having any stress fracture or any inflammation in the tendon sheath. If that is the cause then you will need weight bearing plaster for one month to give rest to your foot.
If there is high uric acid above 6 then you need to make some diet adjustment and avoid taking alcohol, smoking and high protein diet.
I hope this answer will be useful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks

Brief Answer:
You need MRI of the foot

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I think first you get MRI of the feet to see if there is stress fracture or tenosynovitis. According to that we can plan for further management. If there is inflammation then you need splint or rest. Steroid injection is also beneficial.
If there is stress fracture then you need to wear foot brace or splint for six weeks.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
