
Suggest Treatment For Frequent Urination And Kidney Stone Discharge

Question: My friend has just had a operation for kidney stones and was discharge yesterday no post op complications however he is having to urinate every hour and I wondered if this is normal as hes exhausted from lack of sleep. Thank you

Yes it is normal. After obstruction of ureter,there is increased flow of urine since body tries to compensate previous urine flow blockage. it may last even for few weeks He should drink more fluids, raspberry tea and avoid salty food. WIsh you good health. Regards

How will he get any sleep Dr ?

He may use take benozdiazepines for sleeping. However if frequent urination exhauts him then urinary catheter may be considered.

Thank you Doctor. Its the need to urinate thats distubing his sleep however just checked and it has eased from hourly to going every two hours and he managed four hours uninterrupted sleep last night. Many thanks for your help.
