Suggest Treatment For Frequent Urination At Night Along With Body Pains
My husband is experiencing frequent nighttime urination, body aches and dizziness.
There can be 2 possibilities, but will require investigations
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome ma'am.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Taking his age and presentation into consideration ma'am, there are only three possibilities and they will require a few investigations to confirm the diagnosis:
1. Benign prostate hyperplasia: Enlargement of the prostate is age-related (especially in men above the age of 50 years), and can result in increased frequency of urination. The body aches and dizziness can be purely due to the loss of fluids due to the frequent urination
2. Diabetes: Will require a check on his blood glucose profile; symptoms like polyuria (frequent urination), polydipsia (increased thirst), and polyphagia (increased appetite)
3. Urinary tract infection or a renal stone: Either of these conditions will require a urine analysis and an ultrasound KUB (kidney, ureter, bladder)
All these conditions are common in elderly male and need to be ruled out frequently through medical check-ups so please do get him elaborately evaluated. I hope you find my response both helpful and informative. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.
Best wishes.
