Suggest Treatment For Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia

default
Posted on Tue, 7 Mar 2017
Question: I was recently diagnosed with frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA). I also, over the last five years, have lost most of the hair on my legs and arms. I am a male, 65 years old. I have been taking statins for over 25 years, and have been taking Lipitor (Atorvastatin) since it went generic. I am searching to find if there might be any link between statins and FFA or general hair loss.

Brief Answer:
Statins don't cause FFA or diffuse hair loss

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have gone through your complaints but atorvastatin doesn't cause diffuse hair loss or frontal fibrosing alopecia.
FFA is an idiopathic entity which occurs without any specific cause in most of the individuals.
