Suggest Treatment For Frozen Shoulder
Greetings!!!!!
I am here to get your guidance for my father's medical condition.
He has undergone two surgeries in recent past.
1. Temporary Wire Implants in Shoulder (R. H. S.) to treat joint fracture. Nov'16.
2. TURP Prostate Surgery in January 2017.
Now my concern for him is his present day condition as per which he is undergoing immense pain in Effected shoulder joint and whole arm.
weakness
Lack of self esteem
Short tempered may be due to physical conditions.
Orthopedic surgeon suggested to hold Physiotherapy he was undergoing as He was suffering from occasional fever. So Dr. doubted for some infection in joint.
please suggest for the case.
I would be obliged.
Thanks & Regards, XXXXXXX POPLI
Can be frozen shoulder
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
A pain in the shoulder joint and arm can be due to Rotator cuff tendonitis or shoulder impingement syndrome which causes irritation and inflammation of the rotator cuff and the bursa. Although it isn't possible to diagnose his condition without an examination and a few tests, the history is suggestive of Adhesive capsulitis(Frozen shoulder) or Calcific tendonitis.
These conditions are easily managed by regular physiotherapy ( Range of motion exercises, stretching and strengthening exercises). Over-the-counter pain relievers, such as aspirin and ibuprofen (Advil, Combiflam), can help reduce pain and inflammation associated with this condition. If these pain relievers do not work then he can take Voltarin/ muscle relaxant after getting it prescribed from the doctor.
I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician nearby for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Your doctor after diagnosing the condition might refer him to a physical therapist. A physical therapist can teach him stretching exercises to help maintain as much mobility in the shoulder as possible.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
