Suggest Treatment For Fungal Infection In The Large Toenail And Small Toenail
Question: For over ten years, I’ve had a fungal infection in my large toenail and small toenail. Somehow they’ve stayed confined to those nails.
I’ve tried topical remedies, and have twice tried laser treatments using two different lasers (Pinpointe and Cutera). Both treatments failed, despite rigid compliance with aftercare recommendations (using steri-shoe UV light daily, and applying tolnaftate daily).
I’m frustrated by the money I’ve spent on these treatments, yet would be willing to pay twice as much to guarantee a cure.
Obviously there is always the option of oral terbinafine, but I’m told this is a rather blunt and extreme treatment that is not advised for isolated cases. Still, I am hoping to hear some guidance on how I can approach this unsightly problem once and for all.

Brief Answer:
Go for oral antifungals
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your complaints and understand your concern.
Nail fungus usually goes off with oral antifungals. Topical drugs and laser treatment are not very effective in the treatment of fungal nail infection.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to take capsule itraconazole 200 mg twice daily for 1 week in one month. This needs to be continued for atleast 4-5 months. It is a prescription drug and you need to see the doctor in person to get them. Drink cleaner water.
