Question: for a few month now ive had something wrong with my big toe nail. Not sure if its from dropping something on my foot or if its fungus. ive been trying to use the Fungi Nail for a while now as much and how it says too but I cant seem to always use it 2times a day on clean feet but ive been applying it every morning after a shower when I can remember. Dont seem to be getting any better. what else can I do? is it contagious? Not even sure how I would have gotten it just on my 1 toe nail.

Brief Answer: Fungal infection and its treatment Detailed Answer: Hello dear, Welcome to HCM. I have read your query and understood your concern. I have seen the attached pic also. Thanks for the same. I can appreciate the yellowish discoloration of the nail alongwith deposition of some debris underneath nail known as subungual debris. There is redness and swelling around the nail also. It is most likely a fungal infection. The fungal infection can start with the involvement of single toe nail also. I usually advice my patients to take oral antifungal like tablet fluconazole/ terbinafine alongwith topical antifungals like clotrimazole/ciclopirox oleamine to be applied over the nail and surrounding area regulary and twice daily. The duration of treatment depends on the drug used for the treatment. Keep the nail clean and dry. It is a contagious disease. Avoid sharing your belongings with others. I will also advice you to get blood sugar levels both fasting and post prandial to rule out diabetes. I hope i am able to solve your query . If you any further query, you XXXXXXX sk me. stay healthy
