Question: What is this on the roof of my mouth ?

I've supplied a picture of the roof of my mouth with what appears to be a cut but I've not burned my mouth because I don't drink hot drinks or soup or haven't ate anything hot due to not having a big appetite and I've not cut it on anything I've not ate anything sharp like a lolly or boiled sweet

It just appeared this morning when I swallowed some water I felt it like a sore lump
Any idea what it could be ?

Brief Answer:
traumatic ulcer, candidiasis, sialometaplasia

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query and image.
As far the cut or lesion on the palate is concerned, I have three possibilities.
The first possibility can be a traumatic ulcer(trauma while brushing or eating). The other possibilities can a necrotising sialometaplasia or candidiasis.
Necrotising sialometaplasia is a inflammatory condition of unknown cause but it is a self limiting condition.
Candiasis is a fungal infection, that can produce a red lesion like this. Nothing to be panic.

If I were your treating doctor, I would suggest you to take topical anesthetic and analgesics like 2%lignocaine and choline salicylate gel (anabel gel) apply 3-4 times daily before food and topical antifungal agents like clotrimazole ointment(candid mouth paint) apply 3-4 times daily after food for 5 days.
If the lesion does not heal in 5 days, consult a oral physician and get a biopsy done to confirm the diagnosis.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.
If any queries are there, reply me back.
