Question: I have had a problem with shaving my face and upper lip for years now. Now my upper lip and cheek area where I shave have become noticeably lighter than the rest of my face. When I am working out, hot or sweating my upper lip turns white and is very embarrasing..is there anyway I can restore my natural color in these areas or to prevent the whiteness?

I do understand your concern

With such a presentation in my clinic, I would first rule out fungal infection by doing a clinical examination only and if confirmed you may be advised an OTC medication [miconazole 2%]tropically on skin. Besides it you may be needed a prescription medication [fluconazole]which will be taken orally.
Besides it you should not share towels, or clothing with any person who is infected by fungus and do not shave much.
