Suggest Treatment For Gallbladder Stones

Question: I have had a really bad gallbladder attack a short while back and continue to have them several times a week even though I have cut the fatty foods out of my diet. I am a 55 y/o female w/o a colon (no colostomy). I do pass stools that are a bright green color, my guess (as a nurse) is that I'm passing bile also. I talked with my GI Dr. and has requested an ultrasound on a routine request thus far.

1 Whether the gallbladder disease is due to Gallstones or without them?
If Gallstones are present, it is better to undergo Cholecystectomy.
If Gall bladder is inflamed and painful without Gallstones, Antibiotics and anti inflammatory medicine is needed.

One gallstone was noted on the ultrasound done during the really bad attack in the ER. Gallbladder disease does run in my family on my mother's side also.
Are the green stools/diarrhea due to bile?
