Brief Answer:
escitalopram, klonopin.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the follow-up.
In my opinion, the drug of choice for GAD is any drug from SSRIs (like escitalopram, sertraline, paroxetine etc.)
I prefer to start with escitalopram in my patients of GAD as it is easily tolerated by most of the patients.
Klonopin can be used initially with escitalopram for first 3-4 weeks as SSRIs take 2-4 weeks to show their effects. (prescription drugs).
Along with this, you must continue with biofeedback therapy.
Practice relaxation exercises like progressive muscle relaxation exercises, meditation and deep breathing.
Kindly discuss this with your doctor.
Hope this helps.
Feel free to ask further if you have more queries.
Thanks.
