Suggest Treatment For Goiter
Question: i have a goiter. Is it smart to take an iodine supplement?
Brief Answer:
Goiter
Detailed Answer:
Not unless you are iodine deficient.
A random urine test for Iodine and creatinine gives a fair idea of your iodine status.
However it would be prudent to check your blood TSH level. It is a test of thyroid function and can be elevated in those with goiter.
If you consume regular amounts of salt, it is unlikely you will be deficient in iodine. Because in USA , salt is iodized
