Treatment of gout
Detailed Answer:
Good evening
Thank you for writing on healthcare magic
Well the management for gout is not so easy but I will try my best to explain it to you
1. For acut gout attack, an anti inflammatory like Advil is the best choice. Attack normally doesn't last for more than a week in itself. Once attack subsides you can discontinue the medications.
2. You have to control your diet. Avoid red meat alcohol, few drugs which are used fr hypertension. Basically a low protein diet
3. Now come for the long term management, It depends on a few things like number of attacks you have had, raised uric acid levels, any kidney stones which are present. If you have had more than 3 attacks in a year you need to start medications for controlling uric acid. Zycolchine is initially used for 6 months to control the inflammation and it is overlapped with uric acid lowering drugs like allopurinol or febuxostat.
If you visit your family doctor you can discuss these options. But do control the diet at your best
Hope the information was useful
Do let me know for more queries
