Suggest Treatment For Green Discolouration In Stool In An Infant

Viral illness
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concerns but don't worry. The most likely reason for these symptoms in an exclusively breast fed infant is viral gastroenteritis. It is not due to mosquito bites. It needs symptomatic management and good nutrition.
We recommend the following measures for viral gastroenteritis in infants:
1. ORS with proper constitution in drinking water. This helps in maintaining hydration. Continue breastfeeding.
2. Start probiotic such as enterogermina (one respule once daily) for 5 days. It will restore healthy gut flora and help in early recovery.
3. Give zinc supplement such as Syp ZnD or Zinconia (2.5 ml once daily for 14 days). In case of vomiting episodes, hold it for a day and then start. It helps in early recovery and further immunity against similar episodes in next few months.
4. Antihistamine such as Maxtra or T minic drops will be of help in cough and cold symptoms.
5. Continue with p125 drops for fever spikes which are more than100 degrees Fahrenheit. Repeat this after 6-8 hours if fever persists.
Use mosquito repellent such as Odomos for your child as it can be harmful.
Hopefully this will help you. I would be happy to help you in any further questions.
Take care

Detailed Answer:
Hi
ORS is a rehydration therapy needed only when loss of water and salts is high due to copious, watery poops. So, you may give breastfeeding at present and give ORS after every alternate feed if baby has copious, loose, watery poops.
I am not in favour of neutrolin B at present and would recommend you to start enterogermina and zinc supplement as I recommended earlier. It will be more useful.
Give antihistamine (Maxtra or T minic) if congestion present. Else, no need. Mucolite won't be of use in this age group.
This illness is most likely due to viral infection and unlikely due to mother's orange juice intake. So, no need for any diet modifications for mother.
Hopefully it will be of help.
Take care
