Suggest Treatment For Growing Mole On Shoulder Blade
Question: 37 year old female - I noticed a new mole that started to grow on my shoulder blade at the start of Feb. It was scaly which is why I noticed it. I have been keeping my eye on it for about a month now. It has grown in size and changed shape a bit. It is protruding. Yesterday, parts of it started to fall off and slightly bleed. I went to a walk in clinic and the dr said it was a skin tag and my bra stap was rubbing against it (impossible as it is no where near my bra stap on the inside of my shoulderblade closer to my spine). It is skin color and does not hurt. Should I be concerned?
Brief Answer:
I will suggest you monitor again. If color/size changes, more care needed!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this growth that you have reported. Given the nature of the growth, it is very unlikely to represent a cancerous lesion. however, having a growth on the shoulder may not be sight friendly. For now, I will suggest we monitor only as it is not causing any major discomfort. But is this growth increases in size rapidly, I will suggest that we get it excised and analysed.
I hope this helps in guiding you through this. If you need more information to navigate through this, please let me know.
