Suggest Treatment For Gum Infection And Diarrhea
Question: I had loose motions and also a gum infection. I am taking Tab O2 for loose motions and meanwhile dentist has prescribed Tab DOX-T for my gum. Is it safe to take both togather.
Brief Answer:
Loose motion & gum infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Tab. O2 (combination of ofloxacin 200 mg and ornidazole 500 mg) is a commonly prescribed drug for loose motion due to mixed infection.
There is no drug interaction between DoX-T(Doxycycline) usually prescribed for Periodontitis and either ofloxacin or ornidazole. In fact Doxycycline is also used for prevention of “traveler's diarrhea.”
You can take both these tablets together.
