It is of utmost importance that an actual examination by a General surgeon or a Plastic surgeon and an ultrasonography are needed to make sure whether this is gynecomastia meaning actual development of male breasts or deposition of fat as it occurs on the abdomen and buttocks.
Once this is made sure, further management can be planned.
This may be in the form of the total excision of the fat and/or gynecomastia.
Liposuction, if fat deposit only.
Weigh reduction helps a lot if this is fat deposit only; but will enhance the appearance if this is gynecomastia as it will not at all get reduced by weight reduction.
Hence the policy is to get final diagnosis as explained above so that the management can be planned.
There are no known effective medicines for such a condition.
