Suggest Treatment For Hair Fall And Low Hemoglobin Levels
Question: I spoke with you a few weeks ago and you advised me to have some tests run. So far I've had serum alburnin, serum tsh, serum iron and ferritin, ana and all came back normal. I have yet to do the reticulocyte count test and peripheral smear for blood picture. So far the above tests are normal which is good, correct?

Just to brief , we are doing evaluation to find out the cause of your Hair fall and Low Hemoglobin.
Normal blood reports are always good but it doesn't give the diagnosis. And we need to go further to know the cause .
Reticulocyte count test and peripheral smear for blood picture are essential for the evaluation of Low hemoglobin so I shall discuss about it once the reports come.
Coming to your hair loss other possible causes are
1. Physical or Mental stress.
2. Ovarian Cysts.
3. Hormonal Problems.
So I need to know is there any mental stress or Depression in you. Also there is a condition where Plucking of hair becomes a habit of the person . It's called trichotilomania. Anything like that in you ?
If nothing like this is there , then you need to get Ultrasound Abdomen Pelvis to see for any cysts in Ovary, Serum testosterone, Serum DHEA, Serum Estradiol to check for any hormonal imbalance.

Hi. Thanks for the info. I have a doctors appt 11-11 so I will get the remaining tests done. I do have some stress in my life which is mainly my job. You mentioned about an ovarian cyst possibility. Listen to this, about twice a year I get a sharp pain in my left side, so bad that I can't move for about 15 seconds. Feels like a knife in my side. This only happens if I cough or sneeze real hard. There was an ultrasound done which showed nothing. Reason for the pain was must be gas. Also sometimes if I bend a certain way, feels like a knot in my side. Will revert back next week.
