Suggest Treatment For Hair Loss And Irregular Periods

Question: Hi I have PCOS, being diagnosed at 17 - I'm not overweight (5' 9, 143lb, BMI 21) and don't have any of the problems e.g. excess hair growth/acne. The main symptom I have is hair loss and irregular periods. I was prescribed Dianette at 17 and was on it for about 7 years. Then my GP suggested I take a break from birth control altogether and see how my symptoms were. I didn't have any period in the 9 months or so that I was off birth control and my hair began falling out a lot. My GP put me on XXXXXXX Periods returned however there wasn't a great improvement in the hairloss. I have been nack taking Dianette for the past year now. The hairloss began to improve after about 5 months of being back on the pill and I was shedding very little hair for about three months. However over the past three months there has been considerably more shedding. My doctor has said at my last appointment that it is not safe to continue taking Dianette long term. She has suggested that I begin Ovranette. However I have read that Ovranette is androgenic and will in all likelihood make the hair loss worse, is this the case and would there be another pill that would be more suitable, i.e. help with the hairloss but be safer than the Dianette? Also is there anything else you could suggest that may help with the symptoms? Thanks
