Brief Answer:
Essential tremor, Parkinson's etc.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
It is necessary first to provide more information about your mother's tremor, it is noticed in rest or is more prominent when she tries to reach something?
Conditions such essential tremor, Parkinson's, corticobasal degeneration, should be evaluated and as a first step, neurological examination is necessary.
It is not a condition assessed by blood tests, imaging studies of brain such MRI may be necessary.
Treatment depends on cause.
Discuss with your mother's Neurologist about these issues.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Greetings.

More noticable when trying to reach something. At rest, not so much
Brief Answer:
Action tremor.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.
Since the tremor is more noticeable when trying to reach something (action tremor) Parkinson's is very unlikely to be the condition that is causing it.
Some degree of tremor is expected with aging, however conditions such as stroke, neurodegenerative diseases, metabolic abnormalities should be evaluated before suspecting the culprit to aging.
Like I said before, clinical evaluation by a Neurologist and probably a brain MRI could give sufficient information about the tremor source.
Hope I helped you.
Take care.
