Suggest Treatment For Hardened Painful Dead Skin Under Foot

default
Posted on Mon, 1 Jun 2015
Question: I have deposits of dead skin cells on both my foot soles, almost like corns. Until now, they were not so hardened and hardly gave me any trouble(just about scaly patches below my last tiny the). I also always wear slippers at home and prefer to wear shoes/ sandals with soft soles like those by Dr. Scholl. I do not wear heels at all. Off late though, the edges of the corn like area are hurting (mild though) if I am standing or walking barefooted. Can you please tell me what could be the reason and how could I stall it?

Brief Answer:
get them removed surgically

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX, welcome to HCM and thanks for choosing us.

I share your concerns about corns in your soles. Corns develop due to continuous trauma to sole by hard ground. It is a sort of defence mechanism by body to sustain the continuous trauma by making soles extra hard, however it causes pain during movement.

You have been following right approach for corns as you have mentioned. You need to wear soft soled shoes which you are doing. You are avoiding heels, that is again good for you to avoid corns.

However you are still feeling pain in corns I would advise following to you
Extra soft sole which is available in different sizes. It needs to be kept in shoes.
You can also get them removed surgically for long term relief. It is a simple minor surgery. You can be discharged in few hours. You will require rest for a week during recovery.

I hope my reply will help you. Please write to us for more information and follow up queries. I wish you good health. Kindly rate this reply. Thanks
