Suggest Treatment For Hardness At Injection Site After Comvac 5 Vaccine
It subsides by itself and generaly no definitive treatment required for it.
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Welcome to health care magic,
Thank you for posting your query on HCM.
Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that it can be local induration after intramuscular injections and it is not a uncommon thing after Pentavalent vaccine (comvac 5) which generally subsides in 3 or 4 days.
Now,if there is no redness or warmth or fever then there is nothing to worry but in case any of these symptoms (that chances are very less because it has already passed 25 days of injection as stated by you) occur there can be a possibility of induaration or hematoma or abscess.
Here, there could be one more possibility of antibioma formation which is actually a post inflammatory collection of fibrous tissue due to antibiotic usage (here you have given augmentin to your child for 5 days full course) which may take 4 to 5 weeks to subside completely by itself. So,there is no definitive treatment required for that.
In short, you should wait for another 10 to 15 days to subside this hardness or to be in a safer side you can go for ultrasound of local part to detect the exact cause of the swelling or hardness.
Hope this will help you and if you need anymore clarification then feel free to ask,I will be happy to answer that.
Regards,
