Question: I am having too much gas I was treated for H.pylori about 2 years ago. I'm passing gas with blood, my stool comes with red blood. I feel my stomach burning , its been giving me headache. I gas too much in an a single day about 50times. My family doctor sent for the breath test for h.pylori. Also for ultra sound lower abdomen.
He gave me buscopan 10mg. last time I had this same problem I did the ultra sound and nothing was found.

Brief Answer:
needs further investigations as well as clinical evaluation..

Detailed Answer:
Hello xxxxx, Welcome to HCM,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern,

First of all, please note that although there's always a possibility of recurrence of H.pylori but just the breath test alone won't be conclusive in this aspect (in other words, you should be evalauated by a Gastro-enterologist to decide upon a Upper GI endoscopy in the first place along with the ultrasound of whole abdomen and not lower abdomen alone)..

You have mentioned, stool with red blood, is it blackish in color or bright red ?

This is important determinant factor because, if it's blackish then most likely source of bleeding is the upper part of GI tract (stomach, duodenum etc.).. but if it's bright red, then you need to be examined in the first place for any indwelling fissure/hemorroids (by preferably a Proctologist) and a few more relevant investigations like a colonoscopy to look in to it in more details as well as to look for any indwelling polyps or any other anomalies in side the colon, along with stool routine analysis along with culture sensitivity (to rule out any bacterial/protozoal infection)..

Please discuss all these with your doctor..

Meanwhile stay well hydrated, drink a lot of water (~ 3 ltr per day).. take PPI like Cap PANTOPRAZOLE 40mg Once daily in empty stomach before breakfast.. avoid spicy/ deep fried/ barbecued foods/ dairy products (except Curd/Yogurt, which is rather beneficial in this scenario, so you can take them on daily basis) and have simple home cooked foods (it'll help with reduction of the gas formation..)..

Also avoid foods which predisposes to excessive gas formation (i.e. Cabbage, cauliflour , turnips, raddish etc. )..avoid soda, alcohol and smoking too (if you do).. please don't strain during passing motion..have high fiber diet including lot of salads, fresh green veggies..

Let me know how you stay in the due course..

Take Care
Kind Regards
