Suggestions? Am I needing drugs or should I go back to my heavy physical workout program and cut back on certain foods?

Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!
I would like to explain that your actual blood pressure values (144/101) can be considered borderline.
Nevertheless, we can not come into conclusions with only some isolated blood pressure values. I would recommend you to closely monitor your blood pressure frequently during the day in the next 7-10 consequent days (in sitting position after 10 minutes of total relax) and then refer those values to your attending physician.
In such clinical situation, I would not advise starting any therapy.
I would only advise some modifications in your lifestyle:
- return back to your daily physical activity
- reduce salt and caffeine intake and avoid spicy, sugar and fatty food
- reduce weight, if you have gained any weight.
Regarding your headaches, sinus pressure and nausea, they may be related to the raise in blood pressure but also to climate changes (temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, etc.) between Canada and Mexico which induce a new equilibrium in your body.
Hope to have been helpful!
Wishing all the best for the new year,
Dr. Iliri
