Question: Hi
I am a girl of 19 years old. I very often have stomach upsets and irregular metabolism..Diarrhoea and then constipation has become a routine in my life... My weight is 74kgs..my height is 166 cms..
I seem to b tired every time. . My mood seems to b down at every time . I behave abnormal in my classes. I couldn't concentrate in my lessons.. I feel giddy at times..but by God's grace I have my regular menstrual.
. Months before I had severe giddiness everyday which really drove me mad at times.. during thaf time i had some symptoms of headache, upper abdominal pain, madly ithching in my legs..due to itching my legs were full of sores.. one day i had bleeding from one of the sores.. to my XXXXXXX the blood was in orange colour. But it was only once. . Then my regular symptoms of giddiness, extreme fatigue continued ..
I referred a doc and he suspected me to have some haemolytic syndrome. . I was asked to take CBC.. but I was alright after that and so I didn't care about it...

Now I have the above problems .. and one more question is .. I try to reduce my weight but I have failed in it .. I keep taking my cravings and I am in no diet.. but for the past three years my weight remains the same it doesn't even increase.. but for no reason a kg or two decreases . The years before I had a sure weight gain of 3-4 kgs per year..
What is my actual problem ?? How should I proceed to deal this?

Brief Answer:
Thyroid problems should be ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. Thyroid problems like hypothyroidism should be ruled out by doing thyroid profile test. If it is that then taking thyroxine supplementation will correct your problems. Ultrasound examination of pelvis and abdomen should be done to rule out problems like PCOD which also gives insulin resistance and weight gain.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.

Hi
Thank u for answering my questions.... I will check for my thyroid levels. .
I recently watched a health program in which they said that to develop the problem of PCOD -- irregular menstruals is the main symptom. . But I am ok with them right from my puberty by God's grace. But what suspects u that I may have PCOD?

And I have allergic rhinitis .. I have sneezing often.. I am addicted to a half pill of ZYRECTEC or CITRIZEN ...The problem is sometimes when I take a half pill I unusually sleep excessively and my legs and arms are null... I couldn't wake up at all.. even if someone wakes me up I couldn't react to it even though my eyes r open.. This is during the time I take a half pill..

But even though wen I take two pills sometimes I am normal with my works.. I don't nap also..

Hi

Welcome again.

Thank you for your follow up query.

Not every one with PCOD will have irregular menstrual cycle. Some only manifest as insulin resistance. Taking cetrizine regularly can also increase tiredness. You can take the one having no sedation like ebastine for that.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
