Brief Answer:
Your wife might have concussion or mild cervical spine injury

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in details
Since the time since she had the head injury is not mentioned, I assume it has been a few days ago. Considering that your wife has hit her head days back and CT scan shows normal findings, she might have had a concussion, mildest form of brain injury. Concussions usually do not manifest into anything serious, however subtle symptoms like headaches, brain fog may persist for days to weeks. This happens due to minor injury to nerves and is not visible on imaging. Rarely there can be emotional changes and irritability seen even after concussions.

Another point to be thought is if your wife had any injury to the cervical spine which was mild and is causing her persistent symptoms. This can happen due to mild pinching of nerves or muscle spasm. This requires clinical examination by a specialist and imaging investigations if required.

Right now she can try taking oral over the counter pain relievers in recommended doses to feel comfortable.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
