Suggest Treatment For Heart Arrhythmia
Question: My heart has been skipping beats pretty regularly for the past 10 days or more. I can feel it in both the chest and by pulse. It will usually skip 10 or so times a minute. It is very noticeable while trying to rest. I purchased a blood pressure monitor. The blood pressure is a little high, but nothing concerning. My pulse rate is unusually high for me - high 80's to low 90's. The blood pressure monitor also confirms heart beat irregularities with the Intellisense feature. Should I go to my general & family practice doctor to get this checked or should I look to some kind of specialist?

Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.
You are recently experiencing skipping beats that should be properly evaluated and diagnosed. Your doctor should give a answer to the following question:
- what type of arrhythmia you have?
- what is causing those arrhythmias?
These question are best answered by a cardiologist (specialist) and you should contact a specialist immediately.
if you were my patient I would recommend the following exams before answering those questions:
- ECG
- Cardiac ECHO
- Holter monitoring
- Stress test
Hope this was of help!
Wish you health!
