Suggest Treatment For Heart Burns And Sudden Heart Rate?

default
Posted on Mon, 22 Dec 2014
Question: This is my second time asking since i didnt get a response earlier. I woke up in the middle of the night with bad heart burn. All sudden my heart rate went up the roof and felt it was going to come out my chest. After a minute it stopped. I also felt a little pain on my left side of my chest. I was diagnozed with gastritis a few weeks ago and got medication but i stopped taking it after a week because i felt better. Is my incident with my heart rate and chest pain related to gastritis?

Brief Answer:
Chest pain is due to acid reflux disease probably.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Madam.

I understand your query and concern.

The chest pain in your case is most probably related acid reflux disease.

But having said that ,its extremely important to rule out organic heart disease considering chest discomfort.

I advise you to have a baseline ecg and 2 dimensional echo to rule out organic heart disease.

Its extremely important to continue the anti reflux therapy.Sudden cessation can lead to rebound increase in symptoms.Hence such practises are not advised.

Thank you.
