Suggest Treatment For Heart Murmurs
Question: I have had palpitations related to anxiety for 7+ years. I had a checkup with my cardiologist and he told me I had a slight murmur that sounds like a systolic "click" but it was nothing to worry about since my echo did not show signs of mitral valve prolapse and my heart appeared structurally normal. The doctor explained that since I am younger-ish, people under 30 can have an extra little sound from the normal "lub dub" as the valves can contract more forcefully especially when nervous which can produce an extra sound. I am just wondering if you can have a normal flow/structure of your heart and still have this murmur sounds. ECG, stress test, and echo were all normal.
