Suggest Treatment For Heart Palpitations

Question: I have had heart palpatations for heart for 18th months. Normal heart rhythm but pounding but ok after sleeping at night normally. An echocardiogram last year showed nothing. I am told it will go of its own accord eventually.
Brief Answer:
24 hr ambulatory Holter ECG is required.
Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir.
I can certainly understand your concern.
As per your symptoms, you require 24 hr Holter ECG for further information to pick the rhythm abnormalities.
Further management if any is largely based on test results.
Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. I had a 24hr Holter ECG last year at the same time as I had the Echocardiagram. It showed nothing to be concerned about. I just feel that the palpatations are stronger and reduce my energy levels ( I am inclined just to rest and tire easily), particularly for the last six weeks or so.
Brief Answer:
Screen for thyroid issues and Anemia
Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir.
Since earlier Holter is normal, the risk of structural heart disease of the conduction system is less.
It's now advisable to get a repeat Holter along with complete thyroid profile and complete blood counts.Further specific management is based on test results, since a Thyroid disorder and Anemia can cause palpitations.
At this point, I would like to prescribe a short course of anxiolytic pills for 3 months to reduce palpitations
I usually prescribe oral pills of Clonazepam 0.5 mg once daily at bedtime to my patients. Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these pills to you.
