Question : My brother is on Coumadin and had to come off for 5 days and was bridged with Lovenox. He had a Lipthrotripsy for Kidney Stones. He has a mechanical aortic heart valve. He is experiencing mild heartburn

Take a proton pump inhibitor like Esomeprazole 40 mg twice daily along with a prokinetic drug (eg.Domperidone) for 5 days. This will provide you symptomatic relief from symptoms.Use antacids like esomeprazole 40 mg before break fast.In my clinic, I suggest 40 mg before breakfast.
Using motility agents like domperidone will help with rapid stomach emptying and decreased refurge or heart burn.
