Question: I have a strange constellation of symptoms. Several months ago I noticed that my left arm started performing strangely. Simply put, it does not work as well as my right. It feels "heavy" and not as responsive as my right arm. also, occasionally, I notice involuntary tremors which come and go. Can you help me/

Brief Answer:
Earliest guidance & treatment by expert.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for the query under Health care magic platform. I have read it & understood your concern.
Heaviness/ inability to work properly / tremors in your left hand suggest Muscular weakness due to-
- Trauma/ infection of the arm
- Muscle weakness( Myopathy, muscular dystrophy )
- Hampered nerve supply to the muscles due to compression, pinching of the nerve at cervical spine, cervical rib, some lump in neck, near collar bone / shoulder elbow joint swelling or fracture.
- Damage at brain level ( stroke ) can cause such symptoms.- here the symptoms are sudden with serious symptoms as severe head ache, loss of consciousness or confusion & it's a medical emergency.
- General causes like severe anemia, electrolyte imbalance or thyroid problem can give such symptoms
* In this scenario I would suggest consultation of a physician .. who will examine you in detail & investigate to find the exact cause followed by cause specific treatment Or he may refer you to orthopedic surgeon for expert opinion & management.
Please do not neglect it any more.. earlier the diagnosis & treatment better is the result... so seek expert advise the earliest.
Hope that provides you sufficient information & help to take further steps in management. Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks.
